TARO NASU is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Lawrence Weiner “OFTEN ADEQUATE ENOUGH”, starting from June 7, 2019.

Lawrence Weiner
Born in New York 1942. Recent solo exhibitions include “Some Moved Pictures of Lawrence Weiner” (Glasgow Museum of Contemporary Art) UK, 2014, “As Far as The Eye Can See USA” (Whitney Museum of American Art) USA, 2007. Exhibited internationally, including Documenta 2012 (Germany) and Sharjah Biennale 2007 (United Arab Emirates Federation), and many more.

Since the 1960’s, Lawrence Weiner has been active on the front lines as the leading figure of the conceptual art. “OFTEN ADEQUATE ENOUGH” is his second solo exhibition at TARO NASU. This is also the inaugural show of our new space in Roppongi. Weiner will present brand new works that include his representative typography series.

New works which deal with the matters such as quantity and quality, and relativity and absoluteness would bring the viewer’s field of vision far and deep by the profound and universal questions.

Weiner reveals the logics which are fundamental to various perceptions and the relationship between each ethics and cultures which each logic has, encouraging people to confront with the world.
