TARO NASU is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition by Pierre Huyghe.
Pierre Huyghe
Born in 1962 in Paris, lives and works in Paris and New York.
Studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs, Paris (1982-85). Received a Special Award from the Jury of the Venice Biennale in 2001, where he represented France, as well as the Hugo Boss Prize at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, New York in 2002.
A major retrospective touring show “Pierre Huyghe” started in 2013 at Pompidou Centre (Paris), Museum Ludwig (Cologne) and Los Angeles County Museum of Art(Los Angeles).
Since 90’s, Pierre Huyghe has presented body of film works, making use of the structure of cinema and exploring the relationship between fiction and reality, as well as various projects focusing on the hidden systems of such as museum, exhibition, modern architecture, performance and authorship. As an explorer and also a pioneer of the realm of contemporary art, Huyghe is highly-evaluated internationally.
For this time, the exhibition features a long film work “The Host and the Cloud” , sculptures which have the same motif shown in this film work, as well as one of the latest works shown at LACMA, and more.
