TARO NASU is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Lawrence Weiner, starting from January 13, 2018.

Lawrence Weiner
Born in New York 1942. Recent solo exhibitions include “Some Moved Pictures of Lawrence Weiner” (Glasgow Museum of Contemporary Art) UK, 2014, “As Far as The Eye Can See USA” (Whitney Museum of American Art) USA, 2007. Exhibited internationally, including Documenta 2012 (Germany) and Sharjah Biennale 2007 (United Arab Emirates Federation), and many more.

From the 1960’s, Lawrence Weiner has been showing his particular interest in languages, symbols, and the imaginations the above two points evoke. In the exhibition entitled “WATER & SOME OF ITS FORMS”, we will shaw the drawings and the wall texts. The works are composed of words and their relationship constructed with the grammar and logic, graphic and diagram.

He consistently describes his works as “information”. Each viewer has different experiences, therefore the each of them recalls different images by facing the same concept. Weiner affirms each image of each viewer’s mind.
